    • Salary seriously over-stated. Director of Model Vetting at Manulife base salary around 100~110K. Bonus target 17% but given the performance of the company it will be around 17%. No misleading please.
      • I copied the info from friend and don't know the company name. But I do know that pay range for the same job level in the same company can vary more than 30K, yours 10K seems too narrow... And how the heck you judge it's misleading?
        • Manulife的薪水一直偏低...
        • I can tell you the job is from Manulife. It is very obvious. And why I can say this is misleading? Because I know the hiring manager of this job doesn't even make $130K base.
          • really, you can tell me... so you run Manulife or you run the job agency, or perhaps you know every signle model vetting job posted in Toronto? Tell me why I have to mislead anyone here, for what?
            • 1. you mentioned an insurance company. 2. you mentioned the lower range of the bonus is 17%, which happens to be the target bonus for Manulife Director level.
              3. I work for Manulife, for a position higher than Director, so I know how much a director suppose to make. And I can tell you, the base pay of that job won't exceed 120K, and it is most likely around 100 to 110K.

              4. Recuiters always publish a very high salary then at the end they will tell you, your experience, knowledge, etc, etc is not upto the level yet so we can only pay you 100k. Geez. Give an honest figure upfront. Don't waste everyone's time.
              • +1
            • Oh, forgot to mention during the past 3 years Manulife's bonus is never higher than the target. So much for 17% to 30%. Way to go your *recuiter* friend!
              • I trust my friend over you, clear and simple. If it's really from Manulife, it's my friend who was mislead then.
OK, holding a high position in Manulife doesn't mean:

                1) You know what's going on everywhere or everything within the company, among departments, HR, external agencies et al.

                and/or

                2) You're more trustworthy or have good manner whatsoever.

This reminds me of another idiot working at Manulife who liked to show off the company salary, funny ironic...
                • I'm speechless. I hope you understand the difference between insider vs. outsider. And I receive many recruiter emails. I have to laugh some of those advertising. Totally false advertising just to get candidates to interview.
Not much different than a real estate agent who tried to scam their clients...

A good professional recuiter would know the realistic salary range of all major financial institutions s/he works with. If your *friend* can be easily mislead, I would say s/he is not good or professional at all...
    • LZ copied message from an agent. He/she is not responsible for the accuracy.
      • I wonder whether that is true. Isn't zhang ziyi is suing some HK newspaper for publishing false information obtained from another source? Besides, that is not the point. The point is the msg itself is misleading. I don't care where it comes from.
        • Then sue me, LOL... Grow up - you've never learned not to judge people? How you climbed up to AVP/VP in Manulife, if it's not so funny it would be so sad
          • As I said, that is not the point. The point is the msg itself is misleading. I want the candidate to know the true picture before bringing business to you and *your friend*. I am honest. And you get rewarded when you are honest. :)
            • I get nothing for referring anybody to my friend. This is not my business. Like I said, don't judge. And you probably underestimate candidate's intelligence, (s)he won't need you or me to give guidance on salary or anything.
Insider information? Yes, you DID provide one. If I was a candidate I'll probablay think twice before applying, for if an AVP/VP talks like this, what type of company culture I'd expect?
              • Your friend does get something right? Isn't s/he a 一中介朋友 as you mentioned? Please point out where my talk is inappropriate. I just said the msg itself is misleading. And I don't know why that is not appropriate. Thank you.
On the contrary, I would adivce all candidates to avoid dishonest recuiters who refer people for the only reason of making commissions but not acting for client's best interest.

I welcome all candidates PM me for the same job. I am more than happy to pass your resume to the hiring manager.
                • Is he getting something important to you? or is this some evidence to support your argument? I don't get your logic. What I see is some ill-mannered idiot pointing to other people's thread and judging it's misleading
geez, now I see the 2nd half of your last post... so you're more than happy to refer people for this position now? LOL, by your own logic, you'll get paid by succesful referral?

Well this of course makes sense as every company has internal referrring policy. Now I'm getting the whole picture... nothing is funnier

People, don't miss out this insider information we're talking about a boss referring you to a job!
                  • Please tell me. Why do you get so mad when you said a positon is worth 140K with bonus 17% ~ 30% and an insider comes in and tell you, em, I think that is wrong and the information is misleading.
                    It's really not that much.

It actually helps you to set the expectation from the Candidate.

Why so mad? I don't understand.

If someone does that to me, I would be going back to my friend and say, look, someone from Manulife just said the position is compensated way lower that you said. Perhaps you should check your source of information.

Why argue with an insider on who is right and who is wrong? It is just meaningless.
                  • Please kindly explain to me the referring policy for this job. I'm very curious... Please educate me...
Em... Apparently this job is eligible for ZERO referral bonus... Wow.... such a smart guy to figure things out....

                    • Honestly, now Manulife is my dream employer as an AVP/VP guy can have so much time doing this......
